fibronectin

Fibronectin is a high molecular weight glycoprotein integrin-binding ligand that also binds to components of the extracellular matrix (collagen, fibrin, heparin).

The various isoforms of fibronectin are all the product of a single, alternatively spliced gene and comprise three types of repeated varying length internal regions (I, II and III) with or without disulfide bonds.

A soluble, disulfide-bonded form of fibronectin circulates in the blood plasma, and fibronectin participates in wound healing.
